A friend of Jessica's was recently followed from Iowa City all the way to Mt. Pleasant. This begs the question, what do I do if someone follows me? Most people think pulling over will let them know you know they are following you and will end it, or that confronting them will work. I have heard someone remark that driving home is the thing to do, because you will be safe there. The fact is confronting them is a big mistake, and leading them to your home is asking for an issue later, possibly a home invasion. Many of us, especially men, have a little macho voice in the back of our heads that tells us to fight. If they aren't really following you and you confront them, you are now the bad guy! So what do you do? First see if they are really following you. The thing to do is calmly make a right turn, and see if they still follow you. Then make another, and a third. Following you through one turn may be a coincidence, twice probably not, and the third time definitely leaves little doubt they are following you. Now call the police. Either the police will have you lead them somewhere an officer can meet up with you, or to the local station. Be safe, not sorry!

Omega Gun Locks
I am going to be writing a few posts here over the next couple weeks about some of the more interesting things I saw at the NRA annual meetings this past weekend. The first one I want to mention is the Omega Safety Systems internal chamber lock. The small silver object in the picture is a caliber specific locking device that is inserted into the chamber of your pistol (or revolver, rifle, shotgun, etc) anf the black object is a locking tool that is inserted from the muzzle end and used to turn the stud on the end of the lock. This secures the device in the chamber and effectively locks the gun in battery. It would require about 1400lbs of force to dislodge it, and you would almost certainly damage the gun first. This device can also be used as a snap cap or dummy round if you do not like to dry fire with out one. I can explain it all day, but you are better off just going to the website and watching the videos. For more info as well as ordering the locks, go to: www.omegagunlock.com
